A Little of My Background:
I was raised in the small town of Middletown, MD. It was a wonderful place to grow up. With loving parents and three amazing siblings, we had an beautiful childhood full of memories, creativity, music, art, painting (I love watercolors) and plenty of fun.
I attended college in Boston, MA where I met my wife Heather (she's from Maine). We've been married for over 30 years and have one daughter, Holly. Heather is a calming force and devotional writer who calls people deeper into the story of God through the Book of Nature. You can read her work on her website: www.heatherjwillis.com
Our family moved to North Carolina where we both worked and eventually I accepted a calling to vocational ministry and flung myself headlong into seminary at Northwest Nazarene University. We planted a church in VA, which was a whirlwind before serving as the Senior Pastor for a beautiful congregation across the country in Walla Walla, WA. Eventually our little family settled back to North Carolina, where I pastor a smaller congregation in Monroe, NC.
I am ordained clergy in the Church of the Nazarene and have been in ministry for over 16 years, teaching, preaching, and writing. I have a Master of Divinity from Northwest Nazarene University with a focus in Spiritual Formation, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Eastern Nazarene College. I am the senior pastor of Cornerstone Church and part of the North Carolina District Church of the Nazarene.
My passion is to help people reconnect their simple faith in Jesus with healthy lifestyle habits.
